Bold tiger stripes and a broad, flattened head make the Surubi one of the most photogenic catfish in the river. Unlike scavenging catfish, it actively hunts and ambushes prey with real speed, striking trolled lures meant for peacock bass and putting up a hard, sustained fight on medium-heavy tackle.
