Argentina

If the Amazon is Jungle Fishing’s origin story, Argentina is where Golden Dorado fishing reaches its peak.

The Heartland of Golden Dorado

If the Amazon is Jungle Fishing’s origin story, Argentina is where Golden Dorado fishing reaches its peak. The Iberá wet lands and the Paraná River system are widely considered the best Golden Dorado water in the world — legendary among fly anglers for a reason.

The fishing

Argentina’s rivers and wetlands hold some of the largest, most consistent Golden Dorado fisheries anywhere. The Iberá marshes offer sight-fishing in skinny, clearwater, while the Paraná’s stronger current produces some of the biggest fish of the trip. It’s technical, visual fishing that rewards accurate casting over blind luck.

When to go

Argentina’s Dorado season runs primarily in the austral spring and fall (roughly September–December and March–May),avoiding the extreme heat of mid-summer.

The Experience

This is refined, technical freshwater fishing— long casts, visible takes, and a fishery that’s built a global reputation on Golden Dorado alone.
